I’ve witnessed how history repeats itself. Trendsetters in fashion do it. I’ve seen retro fashion which was back years ago. Now I’ve seen emo youngsters sporting a similar look back to those in the 80s. Even technology also has its own repetition of technology: one is the sudden interest of the young in turntables.

I admit, things sound differently when I heard digital music from the old analog ones that I hear in our old family stereo. Our stereo set is full of knobs with only bass and treble adjustments. Equalizers were unheard of. The quality of sound really rocks at high volumes when I get to play some old vinyl records. It was pure and there was no distortion.

This new generation of youngsters find old school music sets better than those that are processed digitally. I am not surprised that I would be learning from Washington Times that there are younger people who favor pure analog music than the common digital ones.

Geeky people are known to be more interested in technology than anything else. Male geeks are often stereotyped to be less attractive to girls because they do not pay too much attention. But geeks often find themselves successful in their careers. Bill Gates is a well-known example and there are even younger geek guys that had made millions (or billions) of money because of their ventures. There is still hope for people who need a person to share their thoughts and victory.

I admit, I sometimes get scared to some abstract things that seem to form a haunting figure. I think somebody might have seen something in one of Van Gogh’s paintings. I have not seen the painting itself, but I believe there are some people who insist that there is more to the “Patch of Grass” that Van Gogh has painted. They got it right this time.

According to an MSNBC article, the hidden portrait is that of a mysterious woman. This was not the first time that scientists had uncovered a mysterious portrait from a Van Gogh painting. They used “synchrotron radiation induced X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy” to reveal those concealed layers of paintings. The “Patch of Grass” was rendered in greens and blues, but with the use of this technology, the hidden portrait of a woman is done in browns and reds. Mercury and antimony were useful in revealing the face behind the painting. This was not the first time that scientists had discovered mysterious woman portraits in Van Gogh paintings.
