Achieve That Constant Stream of Work (Income)

Jul 19, 2009

I have not been updating my blogs for a while. That was not laziness: like many bloggers my excuse is just I was so busy. I had been hopping into one freelance work after another. In between that I try to manage a few hours finding new jobs for my team members who are doing freelance jobs part time while learning all I can about WordPress blogs.

That freelance experience those past few weeks was a race against time. That had really put my time management skills to test. I had to make the best use of my time. I had finally reached the point where I have a constant stream of clients both old and new ones. When my long term projects  runs dry, new opportunities keep coming up. It’s a fact that full time freelancers don’t just work with one client – they have to very good masters of their time to be able to work and earn from different projects coming from different clients.

During that time I was semi-active in social networks, Plurk and Twitter. Since both networks allow only 140 characters, it was easy for me to get interactive without the need to write a full well-researched or well-thought out blog post.

For those very hectic days I just get down to do my freelance work. At the end of the day, I find myself mentally tired to compose a well-researched blog post on any of my blogs.
This next week is yet another busy week for me.

I will not say anymore that I am back to blogging, as other do. I am always here. If you don’t find me on blogs, you could always contact me through other social networks, or through my email. Some of you are even in my chat. If you don’t find my updates here, you can always interact with me in Plurk or Twitter.

Gem, been busy as well. Good for you, you still have your blog up. My blog is gone for now. Dreamhost had mysql issues and I took it down. Moved to Linode but have no time to bring everything back again. I have a plan for my site anyway.

I am looking for a Graphic designer/Icon designer in particular. It is for a large project (Australia). You seem to have more connections so please if you know anyone, please tell them to send me mail.

I am slated to do 2 more projects for the Australian-based company but I decided to find a really a good startup where I could have part time position as a web developer.

If you have time Gem, send me mail regarding the icon designer. Would greatly appreciate it.

    Hi Gem!

Nice to hear your update. At least you still have time to do that. I understand how busy you are right now especially in regards your freelancing job. By the way, I got directly hired by a company in London. Though I actually got them through oDesk, yet they preferred to hire me directly. Am still awaiting some jobs through oDesk. Hope I could be hired already =) See you on twitter.

I do freelance jobs as well, usually custom writing. Though I work full time, I have 8 blogs to manage but I just like doing these stuff. Even the freelance writing make me relax at times when the topic I write about is very interesting to me.

Gem, babeh! I am so glad to hear that you are constantly busy with clients. You have a very good problem! I know the quality of your work and how well you deal with your clients that is why i am not wondering that you have achieved a constant stream of projects, old and new.

    Take care of yourself!

Hey Gem, I know where you’re coming from. it is hard work trying to maintain a blog, and manage work and life. I’ve started to write drafts and just develop them when I have time.

Sure we all had times to be off from blogging,i think it is even helpful to have a little brake and look at your creations from a different view.
