Lenten Season Job: A Christian Blog Done

Apr 8, 2009

I was too busy yesterday working on modifying somebody’s WordPress blog. I was actually paid to do the task – the requirements are to fix the blog’s wp-forum that was not working and make it consistent with the look of the main site. Those were the design considerations I had to work on.

I did all the CSS modifications task alone, but I did not work alone in that entire job assignment. Cesar replaced the wp-forum plugin that was not working and used SimplePress forum plugin instead. He still did a couple of fixes but since he is busy with his day job, I went on to continue the job: I designed a very simple header (the job task is estimated to be completed for a few hours) and choose a template and modified it to make its look consistent with the main site.

Here’s the main site where I copied the design from: Christian Book Bibles

Here’s how its blog looks like with the SimplePress forum plugin working well: CBB’s Christian Community

I think I’ll consider putting up a simple forum in one of my sites. I have yet to look into the intricacies of installing it. Sana di masyadong mahirap. :-) Nice work, Ma’am.

That was very timely. ;) How long did you spend working on that blog (total number of hours from start to finish)?

Ayaw ba? The owner kept on tinkering that blog. Binago rin niya ang arrangement ng sidebars, napansin ko lang.

hehehe.. I’ve met other designers already. I’m not really the best one. I hope I get to have the day when I can truly master doing WP templates with my eyes closed.
