Lesson Learned on Pricing My Services

Since Sponsored Reviews had made the announcement to their members that 20% of their blogs in their system are overpriced, I took the time to rethink about the pricing that I had set on my blogs. The other blog was priced at $40 per review because of its PR4 rank, while this one costs $20 each. Since I was not getting noticed by advertisers, I might as well pull down the cost of my blogs.

It did not take a long while before I got the first invitation to write a post – surprisingly it was from an advertiser whom I wrote a post not too long ago. Yesterday I even got two more advertisers who invited me to their opportunities. Interestingly, the payments that I’ll receive from those three advertisers are double than what I normally bid.

I’m glad I took my own advice on the pricing and applied it.

  • Sponsored Reviews is a pretty decent company. I have used PayPerPost in the past, and they’re good also.

The only downside to using services like these is that Google will penalize your blog/site ranking for posting sponsored reviews. I know many people who had PR4+ sites and were dropped to PR0 just because they had the PayPerPost code on their blog.

    Be careful!

I’ve read that concern in many blogs. I got a PR4 rank on that other blog and I’m also careful. This is why this is a pressure for me, to put up sponsored content and provide non-sponsored content at the same time.

If you’ve heard of SocialSpark, even PR0 blogs like this one gets some writing opportunities too. I’ve done a lot of posts for them recently.

One good way to check for legit online jobs is to get payment proof. Another is to ask your colleagues!

Sponsored Reviews does not cost a bit, so it will not hurt if you decide to do some paid posts from that site.

    Good luck!
