Interested in “gooey duckâ€? Gooey Duck is actually spelled as geoduck, and “gooey duck†is more of a pronounciation of the geoduck. This is named to a particular group of huge saltwater clam found in the Pacific Northwest that is commonly found along the coast of US and Canada. The term seemed to have come from an American native word which means “to dig deepâ€.
Geoducks are actually cultured for their meat. Some groups of people believe that these giant clams are very good aphrodisiacs. These clams have longer life spans than human beings – in fact, the longest in the animal kingdom.
Here are more resources where you can learn about these geoducks:
The NFL is on once more and many viewers might want to consider watching the NFL Games right at the comfort of their homes. DirectTV actually offers NFL Sunday Ticket which will be shown exclusively only to their subscribers. The complete schedule of the NFL Games is even posted on the website.
DirectTV even offers an early bird deal: order NFL Sunday Ticket with your DirectTV base package for just 5 payments of $55.99, which is $20 off their regular season price. This offer will still end at July 31.
Indeed, this DirectTV deal is aptly targeted to football lovers! If you have not switched yet to this DirectTV then you may want to consider this. The only downside to this is that you really need to have an unobstructed view of the southern sky to have a direct line of sight to the satellites. If you live in an apartment, you will be asked to fill out a form (which you can download from the web site) that is approved by the landlord. You can even order the service right online then wait for the installation to be done according to the given schedule. The entire installation is handled by the Direct TV personnel absolutely free!
There are these rare talents who really don’t expect that their inborn talents would shoot themselves to fame, such as this former graffiti artist known as KAWS.
KAWS is actually a nickname Brian Donnelly used in all the years that he had been practicing his career as an artist. He started out by being a graffiti artist then moved on to designing simple booth advertisements, billboards and bus shelters but his “X†designs surely made him rose to popularity – you may probably see his artwork already, as it had been used in several products.
This guy was featured on CBS News previously this year, but I was able to know him more through this video I got today. He was not keen at first in getting featured in art galleries, but I think now is the right time for him to get famous (and even rich).
The ION audio USB turntable is not a new technology that has been around the internet, but this is still news to me, because I did not think those turntables will be a thing of the past – except for DJs who work for night clubs. The Ion audio USB turntable, well, can be plugged in, into the computer’s USB.
Like the good old turntables way back then, this turntable is mechanical in nature. The ION audio USB turntable can run at either 33 1/3 or 45 RPM records. It has adjustable RCA audio inputs. The turntable is powered by a belt drive. Truly, the only thing that makes this gadget modern is its USB capability.
This equipment simplifies conversion of old vinyl records into MP3 or any other digital format. Of course, it is no brainer that you will need to buy this item when you badly want your precious old music to play on modern equipment.
It’s not too difficult to find this equipment, as there are lots of online stores selling this gadget.
Fabric softeners that are used in many homes are seen to be highly toxic. These fabric softeners often contain chemicals such as chloroform, pentance and benzyl acetate which can cause lung, nerve and brain damage. These chemicals too are known to produce cancer.
The worst effect of these chemicals comes into effect when these are subjected to heat. The clothing that was treated by the fabric softener makes way through the skin of the person wearing the clothing. Other people who come in contact with the said person are also affected. The effect may not be noticeable, but over time these carcinogens manifest their effect.
This is now something that I should opt out of my list in my weekly grocery shopping. Unless I am able to find new alternatives to commercial fabric softeners, I must wear newly washed clothes with that stiff and rough feeling to avoid the long term effects of these chemicals.
