Philippine Bank Codes Used In Paypal Withdrawals
Due to increasing number of commenters and emails asking me for a bank codes that is used in Paypal withdrawals, I have to publish this list of Paypal bank codes – the 9-digit code that is used to add bank accounts in Paypal. This code is needed when trying to withdraw funds to Philippine bank accounts.
Previously, I had made a post illustrating that “withdraw to bank” option is cheaper and faster than using “withdraw to card” option in Paypal. Read this post on how to withdraw funds from Paypal to Philippine bank accounts.
If the Philippine bank is not listed, then that bank does not support Paypal withdrawals. Open a new bank account in Philippine banks that support Paypal withdrawals.
SWIFT/BIC codes are different and doesn’t work with Paypal: these are either 8 or 11-digit numbers used to identify financial institutions. These codes are often confused with Paypal codes. Surprisingly, bank customer support ARE NOT AWARE of Paypal bank codes and instead, they give out their bank’s SWIFT/BIC codes that are used in international wire transfers and also with Moneybookers.

How do you get your funds out? There are many people who are able to use BPI accounts. But there’s an additional incoming fee on top of the Paypal withdrawal (using “withdraw to bank” option) – I heard.

In the Philippines, as far as I know it isn’t possible to fund Paypal account using any of the local ATMs. I’m not sure with Smart Money though. However, it’s possible to link up some debit and credit cards (such as EON) with Paypal to pull funds from the account just in case Paypal funds are depleted.

I had a horrible experience with PayPal support staff almost two years ago when I first attempted to withdraw funds to my BDO account. Several failed transfers later I was able to figure it out and never had problems since. Paypal should start allowing Philippine banks to transfer funds to your account.

where’d you get this info??? Man, I was looking for this for quite a while now… and yeah… the bank customer support personnel DO NOT KNOW wtf these codes are. BDO agents actually told me to get lost… or rather not use BDO for paypal since they experience problems regarding transfers from Paypal. Hope this is accurate! Thanks!

All these info was taken from Ebay.ph site, Paypal’s partner, so the list is pretty reliable. You must have missed the source link indicated below the bank codes.

Hi! Thanks for the list. KAya lang, although it says here na nasa list ang Landbank, the teller I asked sabi hindi daw tinatanggap ng Paypal ang Landbank. Do I just proceed and then paste the code listed above on the Paypal verification portion? Has anyone tried linking paypal to Landbank? Please help! Will appreciate it so much!
