Speechless!
I have not been posting lately on all my blogs because I got too occupied in my freelance work. This latest modification that I had done on this blog had really paid off. I suddenly had this invitation left and right that are related to what I had done, both online and offline. I would probably have some work spilled over to some guys who wanted to earn more from their freelance ventures. I had already started delegating some of the blogging tasks to a friend. Thus, instead of leaving the whole wide blogosphere behind, I decided to move on to full time backend blogging gigs.

But there’s also that other thing, why I became less active on the blogosphere and social networks lately. Some places in our country are now suffering these strange internet and electricity downtime. Yesterday, electricity was out the whole day – it was an unscheduled brownout. Even days before that, we had those awful short interruptions that’s enough to create a bad sector or two on my hard disk. I also heard that Davao City was also in the state of darkness for several days. Is it a sign of the beginning of the end of time?
Right now my hands are quite full. Blogging is not really my first priority, freelance work is always my priority. I will have to do post less entries than before.
And, to those guys who are waiting on that post about moving from Blogger to WordPress: Sorry for the delay, it was just a string of circumstances kept on preventing me from finishing that one. Please hold on, it will be out soon.

Sorry to hear about all the issues with the power, but I am soooo happy that you have seen positive things come out of something that you enjoy doing and have taken the extra time to learn.
This is a valuable lesson to everyone out there. If you dedicate the time to learn something new and then apply what you learn as often as possible and always continue to learn new things, good things are bound to happen. Put that togethere with something you truly enjoy and life will be oh so good for you!
The way you have done things is the same way that I preach to so many people that ask me how they can make their lives better. Heck! I am just going to give them your URLs and let them read and then they can see it is possible. Hard work and constant learning is the way. There are no shortcuts as some want us all to believe.
As always, keep up the great work Gem!

Congratulations Gem! You’re on your way to becoming a blogging star. Hehe. It’s a prudent decision to delegate some of the work, I am also doing that and will probably do more delegation in the coming days as I got a new vp position for this US company doing some software dev and outsourcing stuff here in the philippines.

Thanks! I hope this comment that I received is not delegated to someone, hahaha. I already saw several people do that – hire freelancers to comment on blogs!
Congratulations, by the way! My experience being a leader in a past job really helped me.

Hello Gem.It’s odd I discovered you through Blip.fm but I did read through your about page. Taga-Baguio ka rin pala! On power interruption: It’s annoying. Now there’s no power on the business area so my sis went home early and closed shop. We have a place in Porta Vaga Mall. Been doing business there for nearly 3 years and we realized there’s not much sense since we can do our work at home and we are primarily consultants (my aunt is into auditing work and I am primarily a web developer like you). Right now I am a “freelance junior rails application developer” for a London-based consulting company. I’ve also been doing design work and dedicate most of my time learning new things now so I’m not blogging anything else not related to technology.

Hello again *wave*
Ate Gem..
If you have the luxury of time maybe you could also discuss about paying taxes. I’ve asked some freelancers and it seems that they careless about it. So that others will be enlighten about this topic.
Thank you *hug*

It’s really odd, and I don’t visit much of Blip.fm these days, because it’s quite a work to be blipping songs (I wish I could blip automatically through Last.fm though).
Great to hear you’re in freelancing too. You’re still in Baguio, right?
