UPDATE: It seems to me that there are a lot of tech bloggers who are posting out humor posts today. I’m beginning to think that there’s a humor virus in the wild!

I think this is why there will be some people who remain to be skeptical about the possibility of making money online. People with simply an email to communicate with other people often receive “make money messages” in their Inbox email. Surprisingly, no matter how fishy it sounds some people fall for it, while others shrug it off because it is simply too good to be true.

There are some really “creative” people who can come up with new systems to convince people to give out money. People often receive emails that sounded like this:

An inbox message in my Entrecard

The message is too long so I’ve decided taken out some important snippets from that message and put some comments along.

REMEMBER TO COPY THIS WHOLE POST

I was frowning at this inbox message.
However,  this guy seemed to enjoy getting spammed.

Would you ever try out this gift?

I’ve just received an email from a new freelancer. The guy is eager to get his first job. He was asking me to check for a particular data entry site called InetDataEntry.com whether it is a scam site or not. I took some time to check out that site that the guy mentioned because I never heard of it. I read the details from the top of the site and when I reached the bottom of the site, I saw the required $49.99 one-time registration fee.

Upfront Non-refundable Payment

The payment does not come cheap – it requires people to pay for one-time non-refundable fee for training and other administrative costs. Data entry jobs require the most basic computer skills and there is no need for in-depth training for such. I did not think that the registration fee required by InetDataEntry.com is necessary. Most freelance sites do not require payment for standard membership. The simple site design rings off so many alarm signals in my head – I should be steering away from this kind of site.

User Opinions from Forums and Blogs

I sought out more opinions by seeking out the web. Just typing in keywords like “inetdataentry.com scam” gave me a lot of opinions about it being a scam. I tried “inetdataentry.com success” and “inetdataentry.com payment proof” but I was not successful with it. I got more negative responses than positive ones. I got opinions from forums and blogs alike and I never found any happy user testifying its credibility. I also tried “inetdataentry.com news” and I never found any news sites mentioning their site.

Ask Experienced People

I am glad that the user emailed me to ask about this. I was able to create a new post about it. Asking experienced people is indeed important. It could even be helpful to ask opinions from more people to help make a decision whether to join a freelance site or not. Just like the real world, there are money-making opportunities that really truly give treasures of income. And there are scams.

Have you been scammed?

I find more Filipinos who like to get part time jobs than those who decide to venture into full-time freelancing. I’ve also heard from some forums that there are a few who decided to quit their jobs and find work opportunities at freelance sites. I admit that there are times that I get a good pay from doing various online jobs. Blog writing keeps me alive right now and pays my bills, but I am still interested in taking programming or web design jobs for better paying opportunities.

Not Everyone Can Make Money Online

Not all can be successful, but getting online opportunities is often worth trying. The payouts can be huge if clients like what you do. Repeat clients often give stable income that can last, so these are often worth keeping. But it is important to keep one’s nose up for new opportunities and new trends, because the internet world is a fast-changing world: what is hot right now may be obsolete the next day.

The Internet is a Big Treasure Waiting to Be Mined

There are plenty of opportunities online and much had been written about it. Too bad many others generally write off internet money-making opportunities as scams. One needs to learn how to discern internet scams from real ones. Isn’t it a fact that the real world is also full of scam opportunities where many people fall prey to?
