Why Dropping Entrecards is Better Done with Firefox than Chrome
I learned that some bloggers had started dropping Entrecard using Google Chrome. Most of them say that dropping with Chrome is easier. Yesterday, I decided to do the dropping chores using the other browser.
Everything is Faster in Chrome
I tried to load the Entrecard website in both browsers with the cache cleared. The website seemed to load up faster with Chrome than with Firefox. The Inbox list loaded up quickly in Chrome too. That’s the only sheer advantage that I’ve witnessed firsthand.
Longer Time to Drop Everything
I realized that the system that I had established in dropping ECs is not applicable to my dropping strategy. It took me 2 hours to do 300 drops for the other blog. I use either a feed reader or Great Registry Hacks’s Entrecard dropmaster to help me drop cards for my top 25 droppers. Then I go to my Inbox and drop ECs to those who dropped on me a day before. Then I use the remaining drops to drop on the most popular blogs that are related to my blog topic using the Entrebar until I reach the 300 mark.
With Google Chrome, I could not use the image disabling technique to load up sites and drop easily with a plugin similar to Entrebar. The “undo close tab” is not also provided in Google Chrome, not like in Firefox where it remains to be my top handy feature when I accidentally close a site. Firefox is still a better fit to my Entrecard dropping strategy.
Google Chrome is Still Useful
I don’t just simply drop then hop away to another site. I make sure that as I do my drops, I participate on the discussions posted on other blogs. I have Firefox and Google Chrome open at the same time. I do drops with Firefox, and when I encounter a blog where I want to comment on, I grab that post URL and open that with Google Chrome so that I could leave a comment.

ako rin i find it easier with firefox. i just wish that we can have another instance of firefox open at the same time that can have different settings. one instance doesnt load images while the other one does.

i’m just wondering why do you need to use Chrome when posting a comment? why not use Firefox? is there a big difference?

The main reason I like Chrome better then Firefox is at times firefox just uses soo much memory and lags the whole computer

Agree. I hope Firefox considers designing browsers that use separate processes, just like Chrome.

Yes, Chrome is way better at memory management than Firefox, but it severely lacks the plugins that will “make life easier” like dropping ECs.

I have tried Chrome for a couple of days for dropping too, but it disappointed me!
So like you.. I’m going to stick with FireFox!

I use Firefox in doing everything, not only in EC dropping. When I drop EC I want to do it quickly but when I come upon a blog with something interesting I read and I comment. My style of dropping is not actually focused on doing the 300 drops quickly. I try to drop back to those who are in my drops inbox.

I use Firefox to do my EC drops and have not tried Chrome yet. I drop from folders of 10 sites in each and can do 300 in an hour and a half. I do stop and comment along the way. Thanks for the review!

Its great to know that I am not the only one having problems with Chrome. Not only do I end up taking longer then usual, it will cause my connection to overload. I will go back to FireFox. Thanks for posting this info, certainly helps me

I have not used chrome for some time. I have a lot of browsers already and i just use firefox for now. Reading what you have shared here is a good start for me not to bother with chrome for the meantime.
Moreover, I do not sit and drop, I drop while i do something else, like cleaning, exercising, cooking, etc…. and i only drp on weekends anyway because during working days, i let someone with me drop the 300…
You seem to have alot of techniques in dropping… no wonder you are at the top of your category. Congratulations.

it’s great to see what others have experienced.. that means firefox is still better when it comes to dropping… another commenter said that so i stick with firefox as well… ^^

You have great tactics in dropping and i salute you for trying many things to make the dropping task more efficient and less time consuming… i gave up on entrvar, i even gave up with google toolbar coz of some crashing effects in my PC.. thus, i drop manually, just looking at my inbox… i was only able to get one 300 drop back in one of my blogs weeks ago…
