This review is based on my experience as a publisher selling links.
Honestly, I started blogging just because I wanted to earn money from them. I first discovered that I could write short paid review posts in between some non-paid posts. Eventually, as I build content, some people became my loyal readers, and it was not long before I became so conscious of what I write.
I earned a few hundred bucks from several paid review marketplaces using several blogs. However, doing paid reviews can be tiring. Doing one non-paid posts in between each paid review (as most review sites require it) makes me lose all my creative juices.
However, I found another way to monetize blogs: a way to earn passively from your blog. InLinks matches keywords from my published posts and links these up to the advertiser’s website. I earn from those linked keywords as long as the advertiser wants to. It can also run alongside any other ad networks such as Google Adsense.
I had received several payments from them over six months. The payment I get is not that huge because I only submitted a single blog to them. If I happen to have five blogs monetized with inLinks then I would be getting more or less a hundred dollars each month!
They never fail to pay me on the first day of each month. They pay by check, Paypal or Payoneer.
seemed to favor blogs that have good pagerank rating (PR3 and above), nice Alexa traffic (500,000 and below) and plenty of old blog posts. I tried submitting two more blogs but these were not accepted. One of the blogs was a new one while the other is an older blog with PR2 rating but more than 1M Alexa ranking. In both cases, I can resubmit these blogs after a few months after improving these blogs’ pagerank and Alexa.
These several platforms qualify for : Drupal 6+, Drupal 5.x, Express Engine 1.6.x, Joomla 1.5.x, MovableType, Vbulletin, WordPress 2.x, phpBB 3.x and MODx. If you happen to own a blog powered by Blogger or Blogspot, you cannot monetize that for inLinks, but you can still sign up for an account or be an affiliate. I had only submitted a single WordPress blog where I had to install a plugin that automatically links my keywords to the advertiser’s website so I do not have to hunt and modify those old posts to link that keyword.
Unlike paid review marketplaces, I can post as little or as often as I like on my blog. I can still sell links even if I decide to go on blogging hiatus. I do not also need to compose new blog posts using a particular keyword. I just have to let inLinks find an advertiser and automatically link* my existing post to the advertiser’s website. I do not have to worry too, as inLinks had been true to their word that they would not be linking my blog to inappropriate sites such as adult, pharmacy and gambling sites. My old posts are still useful after all!

*inLinks uses two approval systems – A and B. You can decide to go for system A, in which you leave inLinks to decide advertisers, or go for option system B, where you can manually approve advertisers. I am using option A.

Is inlinks different from infolinks? Can you make inlinks off limits to the comment section? What if you’ve guest posts on your blog – can you these particular posts inlinks free? This time they’re not rhetorical. I really need your input, but take your time. I’m not going anywhere. Ahehehe

Yes it is a WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT from infolinks. Infolinks shows up a popup ad over given hyperlinks, while inLinks simply sells links from existing (published) posts.
Paid review sites often ask you to use a set of keyword text and links in a NEW blog post. inLinks hunts for existing blog posts that uses the keyword (that is needed by an advertiser) then links up that keyword to the advertiser’s website.
inLinks WON’T EVER link comments to an advertiser’s website.
Obviously, at this time I am not using infolinks in this blog. I’m using that actively in my other blogs though.
I am not sure if inLinks accepts blogs that contain guest posts, but if that is possible, then inLinks would still function as it is – to sell links from existing posts. Take note however, that you can prevent posts from being monetized by inLinks by disabling that in your inLinks account.

It’s good the blog owner has those options. Thanks, Gem.

Oo kaya ako nagconvert ng ibang blogs sa WordPress, gusto kong gamitin dito.
Good to know that you’ve received your infolinks payment!
February 4, 2010 at 1:23 pm
I think this sounds MUCH better than infolinks. If I were to do it, I would choose the option to manually approve links, that way I could be sure they didn’t land on a guest post, or a sensitive post that might be cheapened by the inlink.
Good luck to everyone using them. May the money flow your way!

Sure, there’s an option to manually approve links. Or there’s an option in the dashboard that allows you to DISABLE posts that you don’t want monetized with inLinks.

How do they compute your earnings? Based on the number of links created? pageviews? clicks?
February 7, 2010 at 12:07 am
I don’t think it’s not by pageviews or clicks, as inLinks tends to looks more into blog’s PR and Alexa ranking.
February 7, 2010 at 8:26 am
Hello Gem…
Will inlinks works with text link ads? they’re almost similar in nature! anyway thanks for the info!:=)
February 7, 2010 at 12:37 am
I am not sure, I haven’t tried using both in one blog. I think it’s best to ask both inLinks and TLA if they allow that.
February 7, 2010 at 8:25 am
Hey Gem, I am already a member of InLinks, it’s one of the most interesting services and enjoy their monthly payments

Hi ate Gem. I’m really wondering about this inLinks thingy. I’m quite confuse about how it works. The Publisher or advertiser. I have created an account at inLinks a long time ago, but i haven’t used it. As i don’t have time to study it.
Maybe you could enlighten me?
God speed cheers!
February 9, 2010 at 11:45 am
I wonder which section of inLinks confuses you. Can you tell me what I had missed to mention about inLinks in my post?
February 11, 2010 at 6:23 am
hi ate, kasi po meron din akong account sa text-link-ads(TLA). Di ko po alam kung paano e delete ang site na naregister ko sa TLA.
February 11, 2010 at 8:39 am
Ah.. magkaiba ang TLA at inLinks. I suggest you contact TLA directly, para i-remove ang site mo from their list.
February 11, 2010 at 10:49 am
hehe. okay po ate, sabi kasi nila sister company daw. okay na po, naka pag send napo ako ng request to remove my site.
thanks for helping me out ate Gem.

Pwede namang i-disable yung inLinks doon sa mismong account mo. By default lahat ng posts mo monetized by inLinks, pero pwedeng i-disable isa-isa ang post.
February 23, 2010 at 9:12 am
before i chose the approval system A pero na notice ko gusto nila ung mga paid post ko so i’ve changed the approval system B para maka approve ako at makadecline ng mga inlinks nila.

Wow! Awesome income. Ilan ang blogs mo?
February 23, 2010 at 9:12 am
i have 3 blogs before. two pr1s and 1pr4. marami akong earnings sa pr4. but then naging pr3, then naging pr2, then pr3 uli. sa ngayon przero na. pero may remaining inlinks pa kasi may trafik pa ako doon. sa pr1 ko na blog, ala kasi masyodong inlinks eh. for now, i am building my pr2 blog para sa inlinks solely. pero pinili ko yong may mga keywords na gusto nila para maka earn ako ng mas higher if they like my keywords. yong mga personal post lang ba pero may mga possible inlink keywords like web hosting, gift cards, home loans, car insurance, etc…pero hindi informative yong parang personal post type lang hehehe…
